
David Battis
Mr. Battis has been a performing pianist, piano instructor, and piano sales specialist in the Northern VA area for over twenty years. Growing up in Philadelphia, David was a piano student of David Sokoloff and studied music theory at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where his conducting instructor was James Levine. David holds a B.A. in psychology and music from Case Western Reserve University and a J.D. from the George Mason University School of Law. He has been associated with the Northern Virginia Music Teachers' Association as well as the National Music Teachers' Association. David has 25 years of teaching experience for various private schools at all grade levels. In this setting, he was involved in curriculum development and also served as an assistant educational director. David is adept at employing varied methods of explanation to ensure student comprehension. He enjoys building strong relationships with his students and tries to convey to them his passion and love for music.
