For students of all ages
Welcome to our private studios where the focus is on your education, growth, and development as a musician. Your instructor will craft individual lessons around your learning style and guide you in becoming a well-rounded, confident musician.
Your semester includes seven one-on-one private lessons on the same day and time each week. On the eighth week, you will participate in the Master Class program. All Master Classes will be posted at the beginning of each semester so you may choose (with the help of your instructor) which Master Classes best suit you.

Benefits
Too Many to List...
...but here are a few.
Adults who had trained on a Western musical instrument for at least six years before age 12 had significantly better verbal memories, as demonstrated by a word recall list, than those without any musical training.
Source: Chan, A.S., Ho, Y.C., & Cheung, M.C. (1998). Music training improves verbal memory, Nature, 396, 128.
The combined results of 30 studies indicate that music instruction is linked to significantly improved reading skills.

Instructors
Only the Best!
We're passionate about what we do.
Many of our private instructors teach full time in the Fairfax and Loudoun County public school systems. While we all come from different backgrounds and specialties, every instructor at The Music Loft shares an enthusiasm for music and sharing it with you and your child. Our core values dictate a dedication to educational excellence to which we all contribute. Several of our faculty members are qualified (and privileged) to work with special needs students as well.

One of our top priorities as music educators is matching each student with the appropriate instructor. TML will make a teacher recommendation based on the preferences and personality of each individual, but our potential students have the ability to make an informed decision through our trial sessions. Trials consist of a 15-20 minute informal assessment and "meet and greet" with any member of our faculty.
